Hi Bebe

After having consumed three bowls of Lucky Charms for dinner (I really shouldn't have bought the nasty box to begin with...), I decided to give Missy & Brice's At Home Fetal Doppler (aptly called Hi Bebe) another try.

Brian and I tried to hear the heartbeat right before he left but had no success. After about ten minutes of trying we'd only had success finding my heartbeat. To confirm that it was indeed mine, I asked Brian if I could rub the jelly on his stomach and see if I could hear his heartbeat. He declined and I agreed to not ask him that again.

Tonight, for the first time, it worked. After almost giving up again, I decided to move the microphone to right above my vagina bone (is that what it's called? - is what I just referred to as a vagina bone really your pelvis? - I should know this) and that's when I heard it - the woosh, woosh, woosh, woosh of little Archibald's heart - beating steadily at around 164 beats per minute. I listened for a whole five minutes.

I can't stop smiling. And now I'm crying... :)
