Pregnant Lady - Living the Single Life

Top 5 Things that I do while Brian's gone that I look forward to having help with when he returns (things I dislike most go first):

1. Bringing in the groceries. I know that seems trivial and living by myself you'd think I wouldn't have that many groceries, but for some reason the amount of bags have stayed the same (there is less food bought, however - don't think I'm down here in NC making myself meat & potato dinners every night, lugging home pounds of burger meat or anything...). But, for some reason, I just hate it! Can't wait until someone with big strong arms helps me bring in all the bags again. Especially now that lugging the bags has become more treacherous with my loss of coordination (another pregnancy symptom). I'm a bit accident-prone to begin with! Bringing those bags in has become a small (ok, very small) feat. :)

2. Driving long distances! I do my fair share of driving while Brian's gone, which normally I don't mind all that much - I get to sing, catch up with people on the phone, and sometimes even do some serious thinking. But this pregnancy has made driving much more laborious for me. Not only do I have to pee at least every hour and a half but my lower back has begun to feel as if a big elephant is sitting on it and to top it all off my legs have begun cramping up. Brian and I usually share long car rides, i.e. we split the trip up and each drive half. I'm looking forward to as little driving in the car as possible! (By the way, Thanks to Lea, that is possible - my good friend has offered to drive me to Brian's parents' house for my trek up north next week. Couldn't ask for a more selfless offer!).

3. Walking Bruno in the rain. Hurricane Ida has brought lots of rain to Fayetteville (6 " to be exact) and with it it's brought downright yucky conditions for dog-walking. Bruno doesn't like the rain a whole lot either but he needs his exercise so we brave the elements anyway. I'm looking forward to having my husband home to share in the dog-walking responsibilities even if it's only to keep me company on the walk!

4. Killing cockroaches. And yes, they're cockroaches. Not palmetto bugs. Not water bugs. COCKROACHES. 'Nough said.

5. Cooking! I've tried my best to make nutrient-rich, well-balanced meals to keep myself and little Case healthy and it's just getting old! Cooking for one is just not fun. It's not the cooking part I mind, it's the eating alone on the couch while Bruno drags his bed from our bedroom into the living room to keep me company. Can't wait to cook WITH Brian and eat together. Bruno's not much of a conversationalist...
